Ross Coates my Graduate Advisor at WSU back in 1992, here with his tatoos and stuff hanging from his neck wondering how to feed JR and me last June when we visited him. Moscow, Idaho

The viewer could walk throu and read the names and dates on them. The installation was donated to the Lia-Bermudez Museum to garantee future conservation.

About Me

My photo
luisa elena betancourt
Maracaibo, Zulia, Venezuela
I am a multidiciplinay artist with an MFA From Washington State University under the Fullbright Scolarship program 1991. I was born in Caracas Venezuela and my studio is in Maracaibo, Venezuela. I have a small cabin in the rain forest of Gabante where I spend half of my time. Here you can see some pictures of the cabin in the woods. I gererally paint in large 160x190cm formats with acrylic paint. I love to use lots of paint and thick brushes. I´m working on a series called Sorocuá about a bird of the Torogon specie that visits my cabin daily. He doesn´t behave like the rest of the birds, he stays on a branch for five or ten minutes just looking around, sometimes with his head tilted backwards as if looking at the sky. Local residents call him Miracielo. You can see him in some of these paintings. If you are interested in buying some artwork, contact me through my Web page posted here. I also work combining different mediums with contemporary technical tools such as digital cameras and fotography as you can see in my Santeria serie also here. You can also contact me at my studio phone:58-414-3469558
